Hi-Lo card tags
Course lessons
- 1. The Hi-Lo card tagsHi-Lo gives every card one of three tags.
- 2. The Running Count at paceThe cards come in a stream and you keep one number in your head, the Running Count, updated card by card.
- 3. Decks remaining from the discard trayThe Running Count alone misleads you.
- 4. True CountDivide the Running Count by the decks remaining.
- 5. Bet sizingCounting earns nothing until your bets follow it.
- 6. Bankroll and risk of ruinA counter with an edge and the wrong bet size still goes broke.
- 7. Index PlaysBasic strategy assumes a neutral shoe.
- 8. Choosing a tableCounting cannot beat most blackjack tables in most casinos, so choosing the table is worth as much as everything you have learned so far.
- 9. Cover playCounting is legal.
- 10. Graduation at casino paceThe benchmark is a full 52-card deck at 0.7 seconds per card, which is dealer speed, with a perfect final count.
What the course covers
The ten lessons build one complete Hi-Lo workflow. Card tags translate automatically, running and true counts keep up with dealer pace, and you learn the few Index Plays that beat basic strategy.
How grading works
Every lesson ends in a Checkpoint you must pass before the skill is secure. The count checks progress from individual tags to full-deck accuracy at casino pace.
What it costs
Free. The Course and Counting Exercises are free; Premium adds seven more systems.
Who this is for
Players who already know basic strategy. If you do not, the free trainer teaches it first. Counting adds a tag to every card on top of decisions that must already be automatic.
Counting earnings and casino countermeasures
Card counting can produce a 1% long-run edge in good games. Variance is severe. Casinos shuffle early, limit bets, back off counters, or ban them from blackjack.
